Festival of Regional Theatre

The inaugural Festival of Regional Theatre takes centre stage at Goulburn Performing Arts Centre this October long weekend. The program includes the premiere of long forgotten works by Millicent Armstrong, a special performance of The Waltz commemorating regional director David Letch, professional development and One Act Wonders—a short play competition for regional theatre companies. Have a crack, jump on stage, and join the fun at the Festival of Regional Theatre

Drought and other plays by Millicent Armstrong is the premiere event on Saturday October 1 at 7:30pm — Decorated WW1 war nurse Millicent Armstrong lived in Goulburn and wrote award winning plays. Join us to celebrate and revive the work of this enigmatic local hero. Produced by Music Theatre Projects Ltd.

The Waltz by David Cole on Sunday October 2 at 7:30pm — The premiere season of the play was directed by the late, great David Letch, who tragically passed away recently.  Letch also fell in love with the characters.  He said "The play is about life and never letting your inner child die.  You're never too old to grow and have fun". David lived by that adage himself and we offer this very special performance in his memory.

One Act Wonders will be held on the 2nd of October — an exciting free event with amateur theatre groups and regional artists compete for great prizes in a Short One Act Play competition. Supported by Mark Bradbury Legal.

Festival of Regional Theatre is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program in association with Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
